Guides and technical knowledge
LayerBench3D brings together practical guides, material references and technical articles. Topics include first layers, FDM settings, diagnosis, filament, dimensions and energy.
Documented information links to identifiable sources. Numerical examples are reproducible calculations, not measurements performed on a printer.
Three calculators with explicit assumptions
The cost calculator separates filament and electricity. The mass/length converter uses an explicit diameter and density. Model scaling applies one factor to all dimensions.
These results are theoretical. They do not automatically predict failed prints, dimensional deviations, maintenance costs or working time. Prices and illustrative monetary amounts can follow a freely chosen currency using dated, indicative ECB reference rates.
A local analyzer with a defined scope
The analyzer accepts certain text G-code files from identified slicers and ASCII or binary STL files. It extracts recognised statistics or calculates mesh dimensions, asking you to confirm STL units.
It does not support every dialect, BGCode or 3MF. It does not fully reconstruct extrusion, calculate a robust STL volume or turn geometric models into reliable filament or duration estimates.
Files are processed locally in the browser. The tool does not control a printer or execute file commands.
A transparent approach
No unperformed physical test, measurement result or certification is claimed. Software checks do not certify a material, printer or part.

A gradual international release
The site offers French and English versions, with content linked to its available translations. Other languages remain planned. Missing content is never silently replaced with a translation.
Components, calculations and parsers are shared so that language versions follow the same rules. This English translation is not a native-speaker endorsement or professional legal review.
